When it came to making the hinges for this box I had major issues. The problem is unlike no other box I have built, nothing about it and I mean nothing is square. So standard hinges wouldn’t work by any means. So it sat. Yesterday I started making wooden hinges for some creative juices from pine scraps. I got a good feel for it so today I tried with Brazilian Cherry that I have been holding onto for a few years.s The cherry was going to go to the dump and into the ground as landfill. Well I couldn’t let that happen! After the milling process and removal of the clear coat the thickness of the material is only 5/8 to 11/16″.
