There are some pieces of lumber that are just to interesting to get painted or stained. This piece of cedar is one of those that stood out to me. This is something new that I am starting to do. Letting the wood decide where it wants to be displayed. The best point of view is long ways as it sits in the photo. We shall see what it becomes. This particular part is only about 3/16″ thick and is about 12″x8″. But apparently it doesn’t want too be surrounded by mahogany.
I assembled it in the winter time by edge gluing two parts sided by side then picture-framing the perimeter. One day early spring I headed into the shop early to find this thing curled like a potato chip. So its a work in progress….
