I became fascinated by the ability of a lot of the 18th century crafters and their attention to detail in carving, especially in relief. So I figured why not try to see if I can do this, once again off to the Wall Woodworks shop again.
My first try when I was cutting the blank on the band saw I traced the template on the wrong sides and it came out square and very wrong. That thing is still floating around the shop somewhere. The second time I got it right and I was off and running with the foot too the left. The blanks I used were from the Jewelry box legs I was going to make the last project. I only used one chisel for this one, a plastic handled 3/4″ Stanley someone gave to me. Carving this one foot took way longer than I had anticipated. But I felt confident in making a go at some legs and a real piece of furniture.
